FIP Laboratory is a private DNA laboratory located in Waterford, NY just north of Albany. Certified in Forensic Identity by the New York State Department of Health Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program, we offer the following services.

  • DNA profiling for human identification

  • Professional consulting in forensic serology, pathology, and DNA analysis

  • Customized training and validation samples

  • Medicolegal services

Our mission is to provide quality customized and timely forensic identity, consultation, and educational outreach services to the criminal justice community and the public.

History of the Laboratory

Forensic Identification and Profiling Laboratory was incorporated in early 2007 after nearly two years of planning and organization. Our laboratory is set in a totally remodeled brick and stone structure in the Village of Waterford at the convergence of the Champlain and Erie Canals and the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers.  The building was rescued from many years of neglect with the original office space converted to a dedicated DNA laboratory facility.  Originally constructed in 1929, the building is part of the Waterford Historical Preservation District.  We are a proud member of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce.
